Building Healthy Families: Life can be hard, and relationships can cause pain. When someone hurts you, you may find that it is difficult to trust again. God does not abandon you in this pain, but promises to stay with you. Through all of the challenges in your life, God’s promise remains sure: “I will never leave you, I will never forsake you” (Hebrews 13). LFS counselors are here to help with troubled relationships and the pain they leave behind. Lutheran Family Service of Iowa (515) 251-4900

Life Quote: “It is no good referring to a child as ‘an embryo’ or ‘a fetus.’ It is still a child and its abortion is still murder. We are told that we must be ‘pro-choice’ (another disguised name), but what is this choice: to murder or not to murder? … In reality, there is only one choice. It is not ‘pro-life’ or ‘pro-choice,’ it is pro-life or anti-life.” Archpriest Andrew Phillips, Russian Orthodox Church, Colchester, England – A “Life Quote” from Lutherans For Life · www.lutheransforlife.org

Please remember to bring a few items for the Creston food bank next week. The mission board has designate the third Sunday of every month as 'Caring for Your Neighbor' Sunday.

The third annual Carolathon event will be held this year at the “Old” Extension Office building at 105 W. Adams, Suite A in Uptown Creston, during the Creston Uptown festivities before the Lighted Christmas Parade on Thursday, November 29. People can come and go (or stay) to listen to featured performers and to join in group singing between 5 and 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. Individuals, churches and other organizations can support this event by pledging or donating in advance as follows: To hear your favorite local musical group $50; To sponsor a vocal or instrumental soloist $25; To request a favorite carol or holiday song $10. The event is sponsored by the Union County Ministerial Alliance, and all funds are used for the Crisis Funds. The deadline for printed acknowledgment of donations is Thursday, November 26.
