For The Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany on February 7, 2021

Isaiah 40:21-31

I Corinthians 9:16-27

Mark 1: 29-39

Jesus Heals Many

29 And immediately he[a] left the synagogue and entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30 Now Simon's mother-in-law lay ill with a fever, and immediately they told him about her. 31 And he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her, and she began to serve them.

32 That evening at sundown they brought to him all who were sick or oppressed by demons. 33 And the whole city was gathered together at the door. 34 And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. And he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.

Jesus Preaches in Galilee

35 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with him searched for him, 37 and they found him and said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.” 38 And he said to them, “Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out.” 39 And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons.

LIFE TOGETHER

VISITORS: We are so glad you joined us today. We do collect offerings during our worship services. While we believe this is a chance for each believer to be a good steward of the gifts they have received from God, you are welcome but not expected to give an offering while you are our guest. If you would like to learn more about the Lord’s ministry here at Trinity please call Pastor Rutz.

He would love to get acquainted and visit at a time that is convenient for you. You are also invited to join members in the fellowship hall after the 9:00 service or prior to the 11:00 service for a time of fellowship.

Attendance Cards: Visitors and members are asked to fill out an attendance card and to list names of each family member in attendance. Turn in your card at the back of the church at the end of the service.

On Sundays when there is Holy Communion please list the names of those who will be communing on the Holy Communion registration side of the card.

If you have moved or your phone number or email address have changed, please note any changes on the attendance card so that we can update our records in the office.

Attendance via Livestreamed and You Tube Services: During this pandemic period, if you watch the Divine Service online and wish to have your attendance recorded, please call Linda at the church office 782-5095 or email her at

lhadley@trinitycreston.org and let her know the date of the service that you watched.

Private Communion Times: If you would like to take holy communion privately, please call Pastor to set up an appointment. Common cup is also available to families or small groups upon request.

Weekly bulletins, announcements, and sermons continue to be available on the church website.

NAOMI CIRCLE will meet in the Fellowship Hall Wednesday, February 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Our Lesson will be “Live a Sparkling Life!,” found on page 18 of the Winter 2020 Lutheran Women’s Quarterly. Please join us as we enjoy the study of God’s Word and Christian fellowship

Valentine Dinner: The Youth group will be hosting a Valentine's Dinner on Sunday, Feb. 14th at 1:00 in the fellowship hall in Creston. THE UPSTAIRS BATHROOM is close to reality!

This exciting project is now in the fund-raising phase.

The architect concept drawing and pledge sheet is available from the ushers.

The new bathroom will be fully handicap accessible and compliant. Located just to the right of the mailboxes in the Narthex, outside of the existing building it will not reduce the size of the Narthex.

The Voter’s ask for your support of this project.

If you agree, please use the “Pledge Sheet” to show your support. All pledges will be held confidential

If sufficient support is shown by April 1, 2021 the Voter’s will proceed with the construction this summer.

Diaper Drive: The diaper drive for the Lc Clinic continues through the end of February. Bulletin inserts have been distributed twice. If you need another copy some are available in the narthex.

Thank You

Thank you to all who remembered our family in your prayers at the passing of my dad, Lyle Scheel. Thank you for the many cards, kind words and memorial gifts. Special thanks to those who were able to join us for the funeral.

We are thankful for all the blessings that God gave to Dad throughout his earthly life and being part of God’s family at Trinity since 1945 was one of the best.

Linda and Rick Hadley
