The Fourth Sunday after Pentecost
Announcements: July 3, 2022
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church
For the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost on July 3, 2022
Isaiah 66: 10-14 Galatians 6:1-10, 14-18
10 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two[a] others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. 2 And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. 3 Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. 4 Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and greet no one on the road. 5 Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ 6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. 7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. 8 Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you. 9 Heal the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you, go into its streets and say, 11 ‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near.’ 12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town. 13 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more bearable in the judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. 15 And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades. 16 “The one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me.” 17 The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” 18 And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

VISITORS: We are so glad you joined us today. We do collect offerings during our worship services. While we
believe this is a chance for each believer to be a good steward of the gifts they have received from God, you are welcome but not expected to give an offering while you are our guest. If you would like to learn more about the Lord’s ministry here at Trinity please call Pastor Rutz.
He would love to get acquainted and visit at a time that is convenient for you. You are also invited to join members in the fellowship hall after the 9:00 service or prior to the 11:00 service for a time of fellowship.
Attendance Cards: Visitors and members are asked to fill out an attendance card and to list names of each family member in attendance. Turn in your card at the back of the church at the end of the service.
On Sundays when there is Holy Communion please list the names of those who will be communing on the Holy Communion registration side of the card.
If you have moved or your phone number or email address have changed, please note any changes on the attendance card so that we can update our records in the office.
Weekly bulletins, announcements, and sermons continue to be available on the church website.
Offerings: For now, the offerings will continue to be gathered in the back of the church and will be brought forward during the offertory.
Children’s Bulletins to go along with today’s Sunday of the Church Year are available in a basket by the back pew (Creston).
Christian Education Information is available in the back of the church (CR) and has been emailed. We have great opportunities for all ages to grow in knowledge of our Lord and Savior.
Bulletin Board: If we don’t have a current photo of you posted on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall please email one to lhadley @trinitycreston.org or drop a photo off at the church office to be copied and returned to you.
Sunday School will not meet this summer. Prayerfully consider how you might be able to help further Trinity's Christian Education for this fall. We will be looking for teachers for fall and we're always looking for extra hands in all areas of Christian Education.
Food and Fellowship tonight at 6:00 p.m. Bring a snack to share, your beverage, lawn chairs and come and join in on some fellowship on the lawn at Trinity Creston. If the weather is bad, it will move inside the fellowship hall.
Christian Care Fund: The current balance is $1971.02. If you ever need to fill our a request on behalf of someone in need, blue request forms may be found on the shelf in the narthex.
Christian Library Resources: Trinity in Creston has a library with a number of Christian books and current topic booklets for you to check out. The library is located in the fellowship hall and there are also some Biblical Response booklets available on the shelves in the narthex. Lots of choices for good summer reading!
Portals of Prayer for July-Sept. are available in the back of the church. These are good daily devotion materials.
Used Portals of Prayer may be places in the box below the mailboxes in the narthex (CR). These will be distributed free this summer by the LLL at the Iowa State Fair. There is a big demand for these.
Trinity’s Constitution and Bylaws: Recent changes that were made to Trinity’s Constitution and Bylaws were approved at the Iowa District West Convention in Okoboji last week. Each officer, elder, and board chair will find a new copy in your mailbox. If others would like a copy see Linda, in the office, to receive one.
VBS: At the June 21-23 VBS we were able to touch the lives of 64 children with God’s Word. Thank you to everyone who helped in any way from teachers, helpers, cooks, servers, leaders, those who provided food, took the time to invite kids and/or to provide rides, etc. It was wonderful to see God’s people, who are redeemed by Jesus, share His love with so many. Thanks be to God who gives us the victory in Jesus and enables us to share His love!
Trinity Preschool is currently enrolling for the 2022-23 school year.
Preschool Endowment Fund
By the Grace of God, we are establishing an endowment fund to be a permanent source of support for our preschool. As you know, we started Trinity Preschool over 35 years ago. This has been an important outreach in the Creston community.
To help celebrate 35 years of sharing the Gospel with our preschool families, please consider donating $35.00 per adult and $0.35 per child. These funds will go towards the growth of our preschool endowment fund. To make a donation towards this endowment fund, make your check payable to “Trinity” and be sure to mark the envelope “Preschool Endowment Fund.”
We ask that you consider being a part of this venture. If you have questions contact Bill Magers or Mike Lang. Thank You!
