Announcements: July 17, 2022

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church

For the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost on July 17, 2022

Genesis 18:1-14

Colossians 1:21-29

Luke 10:38-42

38Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. 39And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. 40But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” 41But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

VISITORS: We are so glad you joined us today. We do collect offerings during our worship services. While we

believe this is a chance for each believer to be a good steward of the gifts they have received from God, you are welcome but not expected to give an offering while you are our guest. If you would like to learn more about the Lord’s ministry here at Trinity please call Pastor Rutz.

He would love to get acquainted and visit at a time that is convenient for you. You are also invited to join members in the fellowship hall after the 9:00 service or prior to the 11:00 service for a time of fellowship.

Attendance Cards: Visitors and members are asked to fill out an attendance card and to list names of each family member in attendance. Turn in your card at the back of the church at the end of the service.

On Sundays when there is Holy Communion please list the names of those who will be communing on the Holy Communion registration side of the card.

If you have moved or your phone number or email address have changed, please note any changes on the attendance card so that we can update our records in the office.

Weekly bulletins, announcements, and sermons continue to be available on the church website.

Offerings: For now, the offerings will continue to be gathered in the back of the church and will be brought forward during the offertory.

Children’s Bulletins to go along with today’s Sunday of the Church Year are available in a basket by the back pew (Creston).

Christian Education Information is available in the back of the church (CR) and has been emailed. We have great opportunities for all ages to grow in knowledge of our Lord and Savior.

Bulletin Board: If we don’t have a current photo of you posted on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall please email one to lhadley or drop a photo off at the church office to be copied and returned to you.

Christian Care Fund: The current balance is $1971.02. If you ever need to fill out a request on behalf of someone in need, blue request forms may be found on the shelf in the narthex. After filling out the form, turn it in to Pastor for the Christian Care Committee to review.

Quarterly Voter’s Meeting: Next Sunday, April 24 at 1:00 in the fellowship hall in Creston. The meeting will also be available via Zoom at Mt. Ayr.

Sunday School is not meeting this summer. Prayerfully consider how you might be able to help further Trinity's Christian Education for this fall. We will be looking for teachers for fall and we're always looking for extra hands in all areas of Christian Education.

Dorys: Former members, Dave & Maggie Dory, will be in Creston next week and would like to visit with anyone interested. They will be at Pizza Ranch on Wednesday, June 27 after 11:30. All are invited to stop and see them. There will be a room reserved. If you have any questions, see Julie Lang.

OWLS will not meet at McKinley Park on Wed., June 27, as originally planned, but will move to Pizza Ranch so that they may also visit with the Dorys. Please note this change in scheduling.

Thank You: We received the following thank you note.

Dear Trinity Lutheran,

Thank you for partnering with us through our Baby Bottle Boomerang. Because of your generosity and your selfless giving, we were able to raise over $6000 so far for our baby boutiques to help parents, caregivers and children we serve. We are encouraged and blessed by your prayers and partnership.

For His Glory,

LC Clinic Family

Christian Library Resources: Trinity in Creston has a library with a number of Christian books and current topic booklets for you to check out. The library is located in the fellowship hall and there are also some Biblical Response booklets available on the shelves in the narthex. There are lots of choices for good summer reading!

Information Changes: Have you had any recent changes in address, email address, or phone numbers? If so, please jot those changes on an attendance card so that the changes can be made in our membership lists in the office. Thank you!

Trinity Preschool is currently enrolling for the 2022-23 school year.

Preschool Endowment Fund

By the Grace of God, we are establishing an endowment fund to be a permanent source of support for our preschool. As you know, we started Trinity Preschool over 35 years ago. This has been an important outreach in the Creston community.

To help celebrate 35 years of sharing the Gospel with our preschool families, please consider donating $35.00 per adult and $0.35 per child. These funds will go towards the growth of our preschool endowment fund. To make a donation towards this endowment fund, make your check payable to “Trinity” and be sure to mark the envelope “Preschool Endowment Fund.”

We ask that you consider being a part of this venture. If you have questions contact Bill Magers or Mike Lang. Thank You!
