LIFE TOGETHER

Calendar Events for April: If there are any meetings/events that need to be included on the April calendar, please turn them in to the office by noon on Wednesday, March 29.

Lost and Found Items:   On the table in the narthex, you will find a lost and found box with some winter items in it.   Please see if any of them belong to you.    At the end of March, leftover items will be washed up and donated to those in need.

Found:   A round, silver charm was found.   If you have lost one, check with Linda in the office.

Suppers for Confirmation Kids:   During Lent, the board of education will sponsor suppers for the confirmation  kids beginning at 5:30.  If you are able to help in providing food for these meals, please check the sign-up sheet  that is posted on the table in the narthex.  Thanks to all who have already signed up to bring some food.   There is still an opening for one more volunteer.     If you have questions, contact Julie Lang.

USED PORTALS OF PRAYERS are needed for free distribution at the Iowa State Fair. The Lutheran Laymen’s League distributes used Portals of Prayers every year at the Iowa State Fair.  They are able to give away as many as they can get.

Bring your old Portals of Prayer to Trinity, Creston and place them in the box under the mail boxes. These will be used to share the Gospel.

MISSIONS

Spring Family Potluck and Game Night:  The Mission Board invites you to a potluck and game night TONIGHT, March 26 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall in Creston.  We will eat first and games will follow the meal.  Members of the SWCC campus ministry will be our guests.  Pulled pork sandwiches, beverages and table service will be provided.  Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.   There will be family fun and fellowship for all ages with games and PRIZES.  We will have bingo, bunko, corn hole and a few other games on hand.  If you have another game you like to play, please feel free to bring it along.  There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex, so we know how many to plan for.  Thank you.

LWML Mite Box:    The large mite box will be on a table in the back of the church this morning.  The mites will be used to fund a variety of mission projects that are supported by the work of the LWML.  We thank all who so generously support the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.   And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins (mites), which make a penny (Mark 12:42).

Trinity Preschool is now registering students for the 2017-2018 school year.   If you know any families who have preschool age children and are looking for a preschool  please tell them about Trinity.  Invite them to contact the preschool teachers, Mrs. Brown or Mrs. Cook, for more information.  The preschool  phone number is 782-5095 Ext. 2

Mission Trip:  Last month the Mission Board announced that we will be traveling to Mission Central in Mapleton, IA on Saturday, July 15, 2017.  Pastor Stephen Oliver and his family from Taiwan  (who we support) will be at Mission Central on that day, and Pastor Oliver will be speaking that afternoon.   Since we are inviting all of Trinity Creston and Mt Ayr to join us, we would like to get a general idea of how many people to expect; how many vehicles we would need for transportation and if you would be willing to drive.    Right now the agenda is to arrive at Mission Central by 10:30 am for a tour of the grounds.  A meal will be served at noon with Pastor Oliver speaking at 1:00 pm.  There is NO charge for this event.  We hope you have already saved the date of July 15th to join us.  There will be a sign up sheet on the table in the narthex; please indicate if you are interested in going and if you would be willing to drive.   If there are any questions, please feel free to contact any member of the Mission Board-Sue Larson, Jean Stoll, Bill Magers, Julie Rutz or Maggie Dory.    Thank-You from The Mission Board.
