November 18, 2018 Trinity's 90th Anniversary Service

Post date: Nov 19, 2018 7:58:53 PM

For Trinity’s 90th Anniversary Sunday on November 18, 2018.

I Kings 8:22-30

Revelation 21: 1-5

Luke 19:1-10

1[Jesus] entered Jericho and was passing through. 2And there was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector and was rich. 3And he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small of stature. 4So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was about to pass that way. 5And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” 6So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully. 7And when they saw it, they all grumbled, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” 8And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold.” 9And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. 10For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Life Together

VISITORS: We are so glad you joined us today. We do collect offerings during our worship services. While we believe this is a chance for each believer to be a good steward of the gifts they have received from God, you are welcome but not expected to give an offering while you are our guest. If you would like to learn more about the Lord’s ministry here at Trinity please call Pastor Rutz. He would love to get acquainted and visit at a time that is convenient for you.

Special Welcome: Today, we especially welcome all of the guest pastors who have joined us this morning as part of Trinity’s 90th Anniversary. The names of those who were able to join us this morning are listed in the back of your bulletin. Some traveled a long way to join us today and we are happy to have them with us. We also thank Mr. Craig Kruse for providing some special music during the service and dinner today.

Attendance Cards: Visitors and members are asked to fill out an attendance card (found in the pew rack) and to list names of each family member in attendance. On Sundays when there is Holy Communion please list the names of those who will be communing on the Holy Communion registration side of the card. Hand the card to an usher.

Thank Yous: Special thanks to all who helped in any way to prepare for today’s special service and meal. Lots of people put in many hours to help make today extra special. Jean Kruse made the special anniversary quilt which will be viewed for the first time today. The anniversary committee sent out invitations, planned the meal, and set up and decorated for today. Others helped with photos and other church history that will be on display. Thank you to those who brought food and hygiene items to be shared with local pantries in thankfulness for the many blessings that God has bestowed upon us.

Freewill Offering: A freewill offering basket will be available in the fellowship hall for today’s vocalist, Craig Kruse.

Missing: On Oct. 28, after the Pastor Appreciation Potluck, one of our members was missing her black, blazer-type jacket. If anyone happened to accidently get the wrong jacket, please contact the office and we’ll put you in touch with her. The jacket has a pin with her initial on the lapel.

Thanksgiving Eve Service: This year the Thanksgiving Eve service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21. Please note this change in time from previous years.
