Paying Taxes to Caesar

15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to entangle him in his words. 16 And they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God truthfully, and you do not care about anyone's opinion, for you are not swayed by appearances. 17 Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” 18 But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, “Why put me to the test, you hypocrites? 19 Show me the coin for the tax.” And they brought him a denarius. 20 And Jesus said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?”21 They said, “Caesar's.” Then he said to them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” 22 When they heard it, they marveled. And they left him and went away.

If you would like to learn more about the Lord’s ministry here at Trinity please call Pastor Rutz. He would love to get acquainted and visit at a time that is convenient for you.

FACES OF THE REFORMATION:

To commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation here at Trinity, you will see weekly information about some of the key men and women who the Lord worked through to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ back to the forefront. Sunday mornings at the 8:00am Bible Class, we will study these people. All are invited to attend.

CIRCUIT REFORMATION SERVICE: TODAY, October 22, a Reformation service for the whole circuit will be held at 4:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Clarinda, Iowa. The church is located at 2463 IA-2. All are invited to attend.

MISSIONS

DEACONESS CHRISTEL NEUENDORF will be speaking with us on Tuesday, October 24th in the fellowship hall shortly before the Life Light class at 1:00. We will have soup and sandwiches at 11:30, with her presentation to follow shortly after that. Trinity supports Christel and her husband, James as they serve as missionaries in Latin America. We invite all who can come to have a bowl of soup and a sandwich and hear Christel share their missionary life and how the Lord has blessed them and their work. From the Mission Board.

9TH ANNUAL IOWAY BANQUET: On Saturday, November 4, the 9th Annual IOWAY Banquet will be held in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. An insert is included in today’s bulletin with information about the banquet.
