End of Life Care: An Ethical Overview: A presentation on this topic led by Mary Merritt, IRTL End of Life Issues Director will be held on Tuesday, October 25 at 7:00 pm at Holy Spirit Hall, 107 W Howard, Creston. She will speak about the topics of doctor prescribed suicide, durable power of attorney for healthcard, POLST form (from new healthcard), advance directives and living wills. There is no cost to attend and all are invited. This is sponsored by the Crest Area for LIFE.

Reformation Sunday: On Sunday, October 30, which is Reformation Sunday, there will be special music during the offering. The hymn selected is LSB 655 “Lord, Keep Us Steadfast in Your Word.” Any men or women who would like to sing as a special choir for this festival service are encouraged to meet to rehearse right after the services on Oct. 16 and 23, in the front of the church, by the keyboard. We will make a joyful noise to the Lord!

The Quarterly Voter’s Meeting will be on Sunday, October 30 at 1:00 in the fellowship hall. Some copies of items that will be part of the agenda for the meeting are available on the table in the narthex. Included are copies of the draft of the July 24 voter’s meeting minutes for you to review before the meeting, copies of proposed Article XIII which would include the preschool in Trinity’s bylaws, and the slate of candidates for officers and boards for 2017. Election of new officers and board members will be held at the meeting. A list of those candidates will also be posted on the bulletin board outside Pastor’s office.

The IDW SW Circuit Reformation Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 30 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Clarinda. The guest preacher is District 2nd Vice President Paul Egger who serves as pastor of St. John, Galva. The service will be followed by a fellowship soup supper hosted by youth who are planning to attend a 2017 Higher Things Conference in Bozeman, MT.
