CULTURE & CHRISTIANITY and GOD WHISPERERS: Have you listened yet on your Lutheran Radio Station Worldwide KFUO?  Check out these programs: Culture and Christianity (Wednesdays@2pm CST) looks into the vocations and lives of today’s top musicians, artists, chefs and more, and deals with the Christian’s place in modern culture as they interact with it in their service to God and their neighbors, and God Whisperers (Thursdays@2pm CST) is an offbeat program that discusses the everyday life of Christians with humor and intelligence. Be sure to listen! Follow us on www.facebook.com/KFUORadio. Streaming and archived at kfuo.org.

Vacation Bible School is tentatively scheduled for our Creston location July 13-17 and for our Mount Ayr location July 20-24. Go to TrinityCreston.org/vbs to sign up to volunteer or register a student.

Stewardship – First Sunday in Lent – Because we receive “the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness,” we will “reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17b). Because of Jesus, death no longer reigns, we do! We win because of a crucified and living Savior. We will live forever deathless! We live now facing life’s temptations knowing that death is not our friend but a defeated enemy. Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your victory over temptation, sin, and death. Help us live joyfully in that victory. Amen.

Mercy

Christian Care: Trinity has established a Christian Care fund to help people in our communities who are in need. Our Thanksgiving offering will be used to fund this account (use your Thanksgiving envelope). You may also give to the fund at any time simply use one of the Christian Care Fund envelopes on the narthex table. Any member of Trinity may request a gift for anyone in need. Find forms for requests on the Narthex table.

Please remember to bring a few items for the Creston food bank next week. The mission board has designate the third Sunday of every month as 'Caring for Your Neighbor' Sunday.

Building Healthy Families: Someone has said that listening is “love in action”. Listening encourages others to express their feelings. When we don’t listen carefully — or when we quickly pass judgment on or react to what is said—we discourage sharing. Good listening invites open communication. Put your love for your spouse, children, neighbor or friend into action this week by listening well! Lutheran Family Service of Iowa 515-251-4900.
