Adult Bible Class will continue today in the Fellowship Hall following the Divine Service.  The topic will be “How We Got the Bible”, a video study featuring Dr. Paul L. Maier.  The class will be led by Mike Lang.

Ordination:  Martin Herzberg will be ordained into the ministry at 3:00 this afternoon at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarinda.   Everyone is invited to attend.

Next Sunday, July 3, Dr. Stephen Oliver will be with us to preach the entire service and also to administer holy communion   He will talk during the Bible Class hour to tell us of his mission work in Taiwan.   Then after that, there will be a “picnic” potluck in the fellowship hall with grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and ice cream being provided.   Please bring your favorite “picnic” dish and/or dessert to share.   We know there will be a lot of other family picnics and activities scheduled for that weekend, but we hope everyone will work this into your busy schedules.   The church service will be begin at 9:45.   There will NOT be a service in Mt. Ayr that day, so we hope that all Mt. Ayr members will be able to join us in Creston.   From the Mission Board

RAGBRAI will be in Creston on Monday, July 25.  Creston needs volunteers to help with information, campgrounds, beverage garden and many other areas.  If you have even an hour to share in helping your community on July 24, 25, or 26 please call one of the volunteer committee members to sign up:  Annette Rice at 340-2996, Gary Bucklin at 202-2163 or Warren Woods at 202-2285.

Training/orientation sessions for volunteers will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 5:30.p.m. and on Thursday, July 14 at 7:00 p.m.  Volunteers need only attend one session to learn about this fun opportunity.   Thanks in advance for your support and assistance.

Mark Sunday, September 25 on your calendar for an afternoon of miniature golf.   The Mt. Ayr members invite the Creston members to join them at 3:00 for fun and fellowship.   It will be located at 2572 210th St., Afton.  More details will be shared closer to that date.

Missions

The large LWML mite box will be in the back of the church during the month of June.   We will be accepting offerings from any member (men, too) which will help fund the district and national mission grants.   Thank you to everyone who has helped to support the LWML in the past and we encourage and thank you also for your continued support in the future.

Baby Bundles,  is an ongoing mission project of the LWML, which helps out the Life Care Clinic.  It is in need of donations of newborn sizes of receiving blankets, onesies, sleeper, diapers, booties/socks and caps.  There will be a basket in the narthex for the collection of these items.  Thank you all again for your continued support of the Baby Bundles and the Life Care Clinic.   If you have questions contact Maggie Dory.

Witness

July 4th Parade:   We are looking for someone who has a pickup and would be willing to display the Trinity sign in the back of your truck and drive in Creston’s July 4th parade.   For more information contact Jim Nelson.
