Workers and equipment needed in Mapleton, Saturday, June 4

posted May 25, 2011, 1:07 PM by Pastor Trinity

Help needed!

St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton is reaching out to people in their community.  They are asking for your help.  Many people's houses have been knocked down, but they cannot afford to remove the debris pile to the landfill. It is a short notice, but last night at a meeting it was decided to reach out and to help in this very tangible way.

Unfortunately, this conflicts with the District LLL Convention in Clarinda on Saturday.  If you are not planning to attend the LLL Convention, please consider working at Mapleton.

Trucks, drivers and workers needed!

Call Kathy Jo at St. Matthew’s at             712-881-2243       or cell             712-880-0080       ASAP.  It is important for the men at St. Matthew, as they plan this, to know how many are coming and how much equipment to expect. If you do not have any of the following equipment, that is fine.  Come to work.

 Equipment needed:

·         Side dump trucks

·         Straight trucks with hoist

·         Dump trucks

·         Loaders with grapple attachment

 Tools needed:

·         Rakes, pry bars and shovels

 Clothing needs:

·         Hat, gloves and ‘work’ shoes

Time:  7:30 AM-- arrive at St. Matthew Lutheran Church at the corner of Walnut and 5th St.  Work will finish mid afternoon because the land fill closes at that time.

Thank you and God’s Blessings, Ellie Menz
