Worship this Week

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church offers traditional historic worship services centered on Jesus Christ crucified for the forgiveness of sin.

In the Divine Service God comes to us in Word and Sacrament (Holy Baptism and Holy Communion) to give us the forgiveness of sins won for us by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Please join us as God brings to us these amazing gifts.

7am - Easter Sunrise - Creston

posted Apr 4, 2015, 9:15 AM by Jonathan Watt   [ updated Apr 4, 2015, 9:15 AM ]

FESTIVAL OF THE RESURRECTION, EASTER SUNRISE (W/ BLESSING OF THE PASCHAL CANDLE AND HOLY COMMUNION)
7am - Creston

“The Most High gave to the nations their inheritance” (Deuteronomy 32:8). God not only gave Canaan to Israel, but He was also responsible for bringing all of the nations into their land. The first people Amos 9:7 compares Israel with are the Cushites, who are referred to because they represent a distant land (Esther 1:1; 8:9) and as such indicate that even the most inaccessible nation is still under God’s care and love. The LORD also delivered those who live within a clos-er proximity to Israel, the Arameans and the Philistines. These exodus accounts are given par-ticular attention tonight since the exodus event is at the center of the Passover fulfilled in Christ’s death and resurrection. It is fitting, therefore, that we listen to the word of the LORD, who recalls through Amos an exodus for Israel, Cush, Aram, and Philistia. And this means that God’s exodus salvation is for us, a joyous gift we receive through Holy Baptism.
