The Fourth Sunday in Lent

Announcements: March 10, 2024

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church

The Fourth Sunday in Lent on March 10, 2024

Numbers 21:4-9

Ephesians 2:1-10

John 3:14-21

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.[a]

For God So Loved the World

16 “For God so loved the world,[b] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

 LIFE TOGETHER

VISITORS:  We are so glad you joined us today.  We do collect offerings during our  worship services.  While we

believe this is a chance for each believer to be a good steward of the gifts they have received from God, you are welcome but not expected to give an offering while you are our guest.  If you would like to learn more about the Lord’s ministry here at Trinity please call Pastor Rutz.

He would love to get acquainted and visit at a time that is convenient for you. You are also invited to join members in the fellowship hall after the 9:00 service or prior to the 11:00 service for a time of fellowship.

Attendance Cards: Visitors and members are asked to fill out an attendance card and to list names of each family member in attendance.  Turn in your card at the back of the church at the end of the service.

On Sundays when there is Holy Communion please list the names of those who will be communing on the Holy Communion registration side of the card.

If you have moved or your phone number or email address have changed, please note any changes on the attendance card so that we can update our records in the office.

Weekly bulletins, announcements, and sermons continue to be available on the church website.

Offerings:  We have returned to the traditional passing of the offering plates during the service.

Building Healthy Families: Who was the man God used to bring the Gospel to convert pagans to Christ over 1600 years ago in Ireland? Most of the world will celebrate him next weekend with green beer and parades but without an awareness of his significant role in Christian history. The little known and incredible story of St. Patrick is researched and well told by physicist and writer, John Murphy Ball, a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Huntsville, Alabama. Look it up, share it with your children and grandchildren this week, and be amazed again at the many ways our loving Lord directs the paths of His faithful, from the beginning of time until this very day.            Information About Upcoming Changes in Our Livestreaming

Around April 8, 2024, Google will no longer support our current Dropcam camera that is used at Trinity for recording our church services. This means that our current way of livestreaming the services will end and we will have no way to livestream the services anymore.  This information was presented at the January 2024 voter’s meeting. We will still be able to put a recording of the service on our You Tube channel and on our website for later viewing.   And, the printed bulletins, sermons, and announcement sheets will still be available to read via our church website.    www.trinitycreston.org

Since the January voter’s meeting, a few members have expressed interest in being able to purchase new equipment so that livestreaming can resume.  We do not have money in the budget right now for purchasing new equipment.  Some members have shown interest in donating money towards the purchase of new camera equipment.   The cost for new equipment would be approximately $2500-$3000.

If you would be interested in contributing towards purchase of equipment so that livestreaming may resume, please turn in a pledge telling the amount you would like to contribute.   Only turn in the pledge form. You may place it in the church offering plate.  If we receive enough pledges to proceed with this project, you will be notified and at that time you may turn in your pledge.   If you have any questions, speak with Rick Hadley.

I pledge $______________________ towards the purchase of new camera equipment for Trinity Lutheran Church.
