Witness

If you are interested in hosting a bible study in your home please contact Pastor Watt

SACRAMENTAL, HISTORICAL, LITURGICAL...Issues, Etc. is a radio talk show produced by Lutheran Public Radio and hosted by LCMS Pastor Todd Wilken. This week's topics include: The Ascension Hymn "Up Through Endless Ranks of Angels," Answering Objections to Christ's Resurrection, Handel's Messiah, The Resurrection According to Luke's Gospel and more. You can listen on-demand at www.issuesetc.org.

The new church sign has been ordered. It will take a couple of months to arrive. If you would like to make a donation to offset the cost of the sign please mark your envelope "Church Sign". Thank You. Gene Cook, Committee Chair.

Why do we open up the Baptismal Font during Holy Communion? Simple, to remind you of your Baptism. Through it you were made God's child. You were marked with "the sign of the cross both upon your forehead and upon your heart, to mark you as one redeemed by Christ the Crucified." If you wish you can dip your fingers in the water and remember your baptism by retracing the cross on your forehead.

Mercy

Christian Care: Trinity has established a Christian Care fund to help people in our communities who are in need. Our Thanksgiving offering will be used to fund this account (use your Thanksgiving envelope). You may also give to the fund at any time simply use one of the Christian Care Fund envelopes on the narthex table. Any member of Trinity may request a gift for anyone in need. Find forms for requests on the Narthex table.

Life Quote: “Thank God for His gift of Christian motherhood, because those who have been blessed through it enjoy priceless spiritual treasures and are given the privilege of serving the Lord in His kingdom.” Rev. Mark Gullerud, Redeemer Lutheran Church, Bowdle, South Dakota – A “Life Quote” from Lutherans For Life • www.lutheransforlife.org

Please give to the Christian Care fund for Tornado Relief. Use the envelopes on the narthex table (Thanksgiving, or Designated funds).

Please remember to bring a few items for the Creston food bank every week. The mission board has is designating every week as 'Caring for Your Neighbor' Sunday for tornado relief.

Trinity has received a grant from LCMS World Relief and Human Care. The Christian Care Committee and the Mission Board will be distributing the funds as indicated in the Grant. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Building Healthy Families: Mothers have been honored for many years for their commitment to their families. Since its inception as a national holiday in 1914, Mother’s Day has grown into a large, commercialized event. In fact, Mother’s Day is the third largest card-sending holiday to date. However you choose to recognize this special day, let all of the mothers in your life know how much they are loved and cherished! Lutheran Family Service of Iowa (515) 251-4900
