Life Together

We thank Rev. Lyle Hansen for leading our services this morning. Next Sunday the services will be led by the

elders.

Pastor Rutz has accepted the call to be pastor at Trinity in Creston and Mt. Ayr. We pray for Pastor Rutz, his wife Julie and their family as they prepare for the move to Creston. They will also be moving their daughter, Molly, to Midland in Fremont, NE on August 18. Molly will be a freshman in college. They will be moving to the parsonage on August 19 so that the boys can begin school on August 24. Jeremy will be an 8th grader and Jacob will be a freshman. And, Julie will begin a new job at Greater Regional Medical Center on Aug. 29. For a couple of weeks, Pastor will be driving back and forth to Hastings and Oakland and his last Sunday there will be on August 28. The date and time for an installation service here will be announced once plans are finalized.

On August 4th, at the Elder's meeting, a topic was brought up, discussed and voted on for Trinity to purchase a washer/dryer for the parsonage. The appliances will remain the property of Trinity. A fund has been set up for any member to contribute to this fund for purchasing these items. A donation will continue until proper funds have been received. Please prayerfully consider donating to this fund. Special envelopes were handed out last Sunday and will continue until funding has bee received to purchase the washer/dryer. The Elders thank you for your participation. If anyone has a question or concern you may speak to any Elder.

The amended minutes for the July 10 voter’s call meeting are posted on the bulletin board outside the pastor’s office. If you need a printed copy contact Linda in the office.

There will be a short LWML meeting immediately after the service on Sunday, August 21, in the sanctuary. The LWML Sunday, which is October 2 needs some finalizing, so hopefully all can stay for any input. Remember, ALL Trinity women of Creston and Mt. Ayr are included in this.

YOU ARE INVITED to participate in a 60-90 minute AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Training on Wednesday, August 24th at 6:30 pm given by Greater Regional Emergency Personnel. The AED training will be held in the Fellowship Hall. Trinity Preschool has been awarded an AED device that would be available to everyone in a time of need. Thie AED is similar to many of the AEDs in town and the training is highly recommended for EVERYONE to receive. We hope to see you there!

Mark Sunday, September 25 on your calendar for an afternoon of miniature golf. The Mt. Ayr members invite the Creston members to join them at 3:00 for fun and fellowship. It will be located at 2572 210th St., Afton. More details will be shared closer to that date.

Mercy

Baby Bundles, is an ongoing mission project of the LWML, which helps out the Life Care Clinic. It is in need of donations of newborn sizes of receiving blankets, onesies, sleeper, diapers, booties/socks and caps. There will be a basket in the narthex for the collection of these items. Thank you all again for your continued support of the Baby Bundles and the Life Care Clinic. If you have questions contact Maggie Dory.
