LIFE TOGETHER

BAPTISM: Today, we rejoice and give thanks for Lianna Lynn, Londynn Gabrielle, and Lincoln Alexander Means, children of Lance and Lori Means, who will be claimed by Jesus in the waters of Holy Baptism. Their sponsors are Aaron and Holly Cottrell.

Rachel Circle Sponsors Potluck and VBS Planning: Rachel Circle is sponsoring a potluck at the church on Tuesday, June 6 at 6:30 p.m. This is just a time of fellowship as well as we'll be viewing the VBS overview video. Then we'll plan a volunteer work night for Wednesday, June 14 at 6:00 p.m. to do some decorating for VBS. Come share your creative talents! Yes, you do have them!

An invitation from Trinity Lutheran, Shenandoah : You are invited to join us as we celebrate our 90th anniversary next Sunday, June 4, 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shenandoah. The service will be a joint service with Immanuel and Pastor Lawrence Boye will return to conduct this special worship celebration. A catered lunch will follow the worship service and we will have a short program after the meal. We hope to have a full church! Please mark the date and join us for this special day!

INTRODUCTION TO THE LUTHERAN FAITH: Pastor Rutz will be starting this class on Wednesday June 7th at 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. This serves as an adult inquiry class for those interested in learning more about the basic teachings of the Lutheran(LCMS)/Christian faith with the opportunity to join our congregation and be confirmed into membership upon completion of the course. It will also serve as a refresher course for current members who would like to review the Catechism and our teachings. If you know of anyone who has expressed interest in learning about what we teach and confess or is looking for a church home please tell them about this opportunity. This is great opportunity for any family/spouse of current Trinity members or our preschool families who would like to learn more about our teachings and confession of faith. For more information, Please contact Pastor Rutz at 782-5095 or 712-621-5971.

MISSIONS

Thank you to everyone who attended the Pastor James Sharp and family event last Monday evening and for bringing ALL the delicious food. It was very interesting to hear how the Lord has led their lives in the last two years since moving to Uruguay. We pray that He will continue to be with them and guide them as they serve the people of Uruguay. From The Mission Board

RELAY FOR LIFE: Everyone who has ever been touched in their life with knowing someone who has/had cancer is invited to come to the Creston High School track on Friday, June 16, 2017 at about 5:30-6:00pm for the annual Relay for Life event. Trinity will have a table and tent set up at the track with bottles of water and information re: our church/school and some Waters of Life Devotions to hand out to the public. You are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs. We want to remind people of the importance of water for our physical bodies, but more important of our spiritual bodies (souls) and the Water we need for everlasting life. From the Mission Board.

Thank You from the Staff at the Life Care Clinic:

Thank you for participating in the LC Clinic’s Diaper Drive. Because of your gift, those we see will not only have practical help but will also hear about Jesus. Thank you again! From: Staff at the Life Care Clinic

MISSION TRIP: The Mission Board will be traveling to Mission Central in Mapleton, IA on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Pastor Stephen Oliver and his family from Taiwan (who we support) will be at Mission Central on that day, and Pastor Oliver will be speaking that afternoon. Since we are inviting all of Trinity Creston and Mt Ayr to join us, we would like to get a general idea of how many people to expect; how many vehicles we would need for transportation and if you would be willing to drive. Right now the agenda is to arrive at Mission Central by 10:30 am for a tour of the grounds. A meal will be served at noon with Pastor Oliver speaking at 1:00 pm. There is NO charge for this event. We hope you have already saved the date of July 15th to join us. A sign up sheet is on the table in the narthex. Please indicate if you are interested in going and if you would be willing to drive. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact any member of the Mission Board-Sue Larson, Jean Stoll, Bill Magers, Julie Rutz or Maggie Dory. Thank-You from The Mission Board.
