Rev. 7:(2-8) 9-17

I John 3:1-3

Matt. 5:1-12

The Sermon on the Mount

1 Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him.

The Beatitudes

2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.

12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

LIFE TOGETHER

VISITORS: We are so glad you joined us today. We do collect offerings during our worship services. While we believe this is a chance for each believer to be a good steward of the gifts they have received form God, you are welcome but not expected to give an offering while you are our guest. If you would like to learn more about the Lord’s ministry here at Trinity please call Pastor Rutz. He would love to get acquainted and visit at a time that is convenient for you.

Naomi Circle will meet this Wednesday, November 8 at 1:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for Bible Study and fellowship. Our topic will be Set Your Minds on Things Above” This study is found on page 20 of the Fall 2017 Quarterly. Please join us for Bible study and fellowship .

SUNDAY MORNING ADULT BIBLE CLASS:

Beginning Sunday, November 12 the Sunday morning Adult Bible Class will be studying the minor prophets (books of the Bible). We look forward to seeing you there at 8:00 a.m.

TRINITY’S 90TH ANNIVERSARY:

Trinity would like to celebrate the 90th anniversary of our church which is next year. If you would like to be on a committee to put a few activities together please contact Julie Lang.

HONORING OUR VETERANS: Next Sunday, November 12, we will honor our veterans with a reception following the church service in Creston. Please bring pictures and memorabilia of members of your family who have served our country, either presently or in the past. A table will be set up in the fellowship hall to display these items. Please place your pictures and/or other items on the table before the church service and you may take them home with you after the reception. Everyone is invited to join us to honor our veterans. If you have questions contact Joyce Kruse.

MISSIONS

BIBLE STICKS FOR THE MILITARY: At our November 12 reception for our veterans, a Bible Stick will also be displayed. A Bible Stick is an audio device of the New Testament and selected Psalms that a military person can listen to even out in the field. Each device costs $25.00. A special offering will be collected that day for anyone who would like to contribute to this very worthy cause. From the Mission Board

Thank you to all who could attend the very interesting presentation on Tuesday, October 24th by Deaconess Christel Neuendorf. She spoke for about an hour after a light lunch was served. Trinity supports Christel and her husband, James who are missionaries in the Dominican Republic. A free will offering for $383.00 was collected for Christel. We will continue to keep them in our prayers that God would protect them while they are spreading His gospel in foreign lands. From the Mission Board
