LIFE TOGETHER

SUNDAY SCHOOL will begin TODAY in Creston following worship always ending at 10:45. The middle classroom in the Fellowship Hall will be our classroom for preschool through 5th grade. We will have a team of teachers who will alternate Sundays. We’re excited to see your child next Sunday!

We’ll continue to gage interest in Mt. Ayr and have a plan to serve those children as well.

LUTHER MOVIE ON PBS: Martin Luther; The Idea that Changed the World”, the full-length feature film that premiered in selected theaters in February, is set to air nationally on PBS on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. Central time. This was reported in the September Reporter newspaper. Check your local listings to make sure IPTV times are the same. This is being shown because of 2017 being the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.

FACES OF THE REFORMATION

To commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation here at Trinity, you will see weekly information about some of the key men and women who the Lord worked through to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ back to the forefront. Sunday mornings at the 8:00am Bible Class, we will study these people. This study will continue through Reformation Sunday on October 29. All are invited to attend this class.

NAOMI CIRCLE will meet this Wednesday, September 13 at 1:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Our topic will be "Be Still and Know That I Am God!”on page 20 of the Summer 2017 Quarterly. Please join us for Bible study and fellowship.

The Bible Class for grades 6-12 will resume on Sunday, September 17, 2017. We will begin a study called “THE BIBLE ON TRIAL.” This is a video study led by Craig Parton, a lawyer, a lay member of the LCMS who has personally examined the evidence. The class will be led by Mike Lang.

LifeLight Bible Study will begin Monday, September 18, at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, September 19 at 1:00 p.m. You may attend either class, as the same material will be presented in both. We will study of the book of John, Part two. Dr. Luther wrote this about the book of John: “Therefore the evangelist [John] is a master above all the other evangelists, for he treats of this doctrine of Christ’s divinity and His humanity persistently and diligently. He joins these two natures together. When Christ becomes man, He speaks to us, performs miracles, and dies according to His humanity. And then His divinity is also established with plain words.” This is a nine week in-depth study of John. You do not have to have completed John, part one to participate. Trinity has been studying LifeLight courses for 27 years. Books are ready to be picked up from the table in the narthex. If you have any questions, contact Mike or Janette Lang

EARLY RISERS will resume our regular Tuesday meetings on September 19 at 6:30 a.m. We are currently reading and discussing the prophet, Isaiah. You are welcome to join us for God’s Word, fellowship, coffee and doughnuts either regularly or occasionally. No preparation is required for this Bible study. There is no charge.

LWML SUNDAY: A special worship service is planned for Sunday, October 1, 2017, to celebrate all that God has done through the LWML. Since 1942, the LWML has affirmed each woman's identity as a child of God and her relationship with Jesus Christ, encouraging and equipping Christion women to live out their lives in active mission ministries, and to support missions around the world through their sacrificial gifts of mites, tithes, offerings, and tireless service. Now is our time to "Be Ready to Confess! faithfully and boldly of Christ's redemptive work for us and for all the world."

Please join us after the service in the fellowship hall-we will be serving lots of yummy baked items and hot apple cider! There will be a craft and bake sale during this time as well. ALL monies collected for MITES will go for District and National Grants
