These meetings are for students who are in 6th grade or above and their parents.
RACHEL CIRCLE will begin a new season on Tuesday, September 5 at 7:00 p.m. and will meet at Becky Hagen’s house, 1637 Hwy 25. All women are invited to join them for Bible Study and fellowship.
NAOMI CIRCLE meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the afternoon and always meets in the fellowship hall. All women are invited to join them on Wednesday, September 13 at 1:30 p.m.
SUNDAY SCHOOL will begin September 10th in Creston following worship always ending at 10:45. The middle classroom in the Fellowship Hall will be our classroom for preschool through 5th grade. We will have a team of teachers who will alternate Sundays. We’re excited to see your child next Sunday!
We’ll continue to gauge interest in Mt. Ayr and have a plan to serve those children as well.
The Bible Class for grades 6-12 will resume on Sunday, September 17, 2017. We will begin a study called “THE BIBLE ON TRIAL.” This is a video study led by Craig Parton, a lawyer, a lay member of the LCMS who has personally examined the evidence. The class will be led by Mike Lang.
F.L.O.C.K.: The beginning of this school year’s F.L.O.C. K. (for children) has been moved to October 18. This is a change from what is printed on the Sept. calendar.
FACES OF THE REFORMATION
To commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation here at Trinity, you will see weekly information about some of the key men and women who the Lord worked through to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ back to the forefront. Sunday mornings at the 8:00am Bible Class, we will study these people. This study will continue through Reformation Sunday on October 29. All are invited to attend this class.
LifeLight Bible Study will begin Monday, September 18, at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, September 19 at 1:00 p.m. You may attend either class, as the same material will be presented in both. We will study of the book of John, Part two. Dr. Luther wrote this about the book of John: “Therefore the evangelist [John] is a master above all the other evangelists, for he treats of this doctrine of Christ’s divinity and His humanity persistently and diligently. He joins these two natures together. When Christ becomes man, He speaks to us, performs miracles, and dies according to His humanity. And then His divinity is also established with plain words.” This is a nine week in-depth study of John. You do not have to have completed John, part one to participate. Trinity has been studying LifeLight courses for 27 years. Books are ready to be picked up from the table in the narthex. If you have any questions contact Mike or Janette Lang.
EARLY RISERS will resume our regular Tuesday meetings on September 19 at 6:30 a.m. We are currently reading and discussing the prophet, Isaiah. You are welcome to join us for God’s Word, fellowship, coffee and doughnuts either regularly or occasionally. No preparation is required for this Bible study. There is no charge.
3RD ANNUAL TRINITY MINIATURE GOLF OUTING: Trinity members from Mt. Ayr invite Trinity members form Creston.
Let’s get together for an afternoon of miniature golf. Haven’t played miniature golf? Not a problem. You can be a pro by the end of the day. A bonfire will be ready for roasting hot dogs and making smores. This will be a fun time for people of all ages. See you there!
When: Sunday, September 24, 2017 3:00 p.m.
Where: 2572 210th Street, Afton, Iowa—One mile south of Afton on Hwy 169, turn east on 210th Street, continue on gravel approximately 1.5 miles to 2572 on the south (right) side of the road.
