  • Mercy
  • DISASTER UPDATE: As the reports of the mounting injuries, death and destruction pour out of Nepal, LCMS Disaster Response and the LCMS Office of International Mission are working to make connections and learn how we best can bear Christ's mercy in the midst of this tragedy. We have made an initial grant of $25,000 to Lutheran World Lutheran World Relief to assist with their response. Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy. If you want to help with this effort you may give to LCMS Disaster Response. By mail: LCMS Disaster Response P.O. Box 66861 St. Louis MO 63166-6861 By Phone: 888-930-4438 or on the Net: https://lcms.org/givenow/disaster
  • Tornadoes have once again devastated towns in Texas, South Dakota, and Iowa. Included in the destruction is our sister church, Zion Lutheran Church & Parsonage in Delmont, South Dakota. To support LCMS tornado-relief efforts, make a gift online at https://lcms.org/givenow/tornado

Witness

  • Living On Mission – Before He ascended into heaven, Jesus commissioned His disciples to make disciples. In addition to your preaching and teaching, equip your members to join Jesus on His mission in their neighborhood by encouraging their attendance at one of the four regional “Living On Mission” events to be held across IDW May 27-31. Led by Rev. Greg Finke, Executive Director of Dwelling 1:14 and author of “Joining Jesus On His Mission,” these no-cost events will open the eyes of your people to the possibilities of living with Jesus on His mission. For more information go to www.iowamissions.org or contact Executive Assistant Mark Gerken (515-570-2331 or mark.gerken@idwlcms.org).
  • Please mark your calendars for Sunday, May 31 to remind you that James and Christel Neuendorf will be with us to hear about their missionary work in the Dominican Republic, who we are currently sponsoring. They will have a presentation during the Bible Class hour at 11:00 and afterwards we will have a potluck with an ice cream social! So please plan to be with us to hear them speak of the work they are doing to spread the word of Christ. The Mission Committee
