The program Law and Gospel uses the theological distinctions between Law and Gospel not only to apply the Bible, but also to understand our relationship to God’s entire plan of salvation in Christ. Weekdays 9:30-10:00am CST. Find it at www.kfuo.org and follow us on Facebook at Facebook.com/KFUOradio.

How does one be the light of the world that Jesus says we are? (Matthew It must be more than railing against the darkness. Isaiah gives another approach. “Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh? Then shall your light break forth like the dawn” (58:7-8a). Prayer: Light of the World, help us shine Your light in the things we say and in the things we do. Amen.

Building Healthy Families: Valentine’s Day is This year, how about trying something different: DON’T use the words, “I love you”. Instead, look for other ways to say it. How about, “My life is better because you are in it,” or “I am so proud that you are my daughter”, or “I am so glad that God brought you into my life!” Be creative . . . and remember how much you are loved by your Father. Happy Valentine’s Day! Lutheran Family Service of Iowa (515) 251-4900.

Stewardship: Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” We cannot keep the Law of God perfectly. We are sinners. For us to be saved, Jesus had to fulfill the Law perfectly in our place. Although the threat of the Law is abolished, the Law is upheld. For in Christ we now desire to fulfill the Law, to live out a godly Christian life in thanksgiving to God for His gracious work of salvation.

“Lifelight Bible Study will resume on Monday, February 10 at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, February 11 at 1:30 p.m. We will study the last half of the book of Genesis, beginning with chapter 25. For information and study materials see Janette or Mike Lang.”
