Life Together

Funeral Services for ELEANOR FERN ELIZABETH HOEPKER will be this afternoon at 2:30pm at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. The family will greet family and friends beginning at 1:30pm in the Narthex. A private committal for the family will follow at the cemetery in Greenfield.

Handy Helpers to meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 and then every month thru April on the 3rd Tuesday of the Month.

Stewardship: (Sunday after Christmas) Galatians 4:4 “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law.” Jesus was born under the law so that He might fulfill the law in our place. His perfect righteousness is credited to us. And it is this free forgiveness of sins and crediting of righteousness that sets us free to follow our Lord in godly living. Since we are freed from the law's condemnation, we are freed also from any mercenary attitudes. Indeed, we are freed to show our thanks to Him in generosity, humility, and kindness."

Administration: Don’t forget fill out your attendance cards. Please don't forget to put the date on the card. Put the name of all in attendance on the front and all those taking communion on the back.

The Church locks have been re-keyed. Any member of the church may have a key. Please come to the office and fill out a registration card and return your old keys for recycling.

There will be a Trinity Teacher's Meeting next Sunday at 12pm following bible class. All teachers are encouraged to attend. Please bring a sack lunch.

Want Some Help to Make a Stronger Marriage? Lutheran Family Service can help. Visit http://helpingmarriageswork.com/ for tools and contact information to help you with the hard task of keeping your marriage on the right track.

Building Healthy Families: “Men marry women with the hope they will never change. Women marry men with the hope they will change. Invariably, they are both disappointed,” said Albert Einstein. Thanks be to our God who never disappoints and never changes! When our relationships are built on Him, we have our greatest potential for health and wholeness. Happy New Year with a toast to happy marriages and healthy families in 2014 from the staff of LFS! Lutheran Family Service of Iowa

Witness

“Instead of doing what might have been expected, the Lord held out a promise. He said that any and everyone who looked upon His Son as Savior would be given eternal life. Read through Scripture and you will find that invitation extended again and again. It was a promise that found its fulfillment in the birth, life, death, and resurrection of the Savior whose birth we celebrate this month.” Rev. Ken Klaus, speaker emeritus of “The Lutheran Hour” – A “Life Quote” from Lutherans For Life · www.lutheransforlife.org

Iowa Lutheran School Tuition Organization (ILSTO) Your gift to the ILSTO will result in a tax credit that will directly reduce your Iowa taxes, AND assist families with tuition costs. Donor forms can be found by visiting the ILSTO website at www.iowalutheransto.org or contact Dewey Torkelson 712-260-2991 for more details on how you can help further the mission of Lutheran education and to see if credits are still available. You only have a couple of days left to donate.

Thank You!

Pastor and his family were truly touched by the gifts we received this Christmas from the members of Trinity. Our greatest gift here at Trinity is being able to serve this congregation with the Word and Sacraments. Our Family rejoices in service of the Lord. Happy New Year and Many Blessing the Watt Family.
