At Gangway to Galilee VBS, you will connect children with the most important message of their lifetime: the miraculous story of what Jesus did for us what we could never do for ourselves. Please see the sign up sheets in the Narthex or contact Julie Lang, Hannah Shady, Megan Shutt or Waunita Watt. Join us for this Amazing Grace Adventure! Now is the time to get involved. Life Together

July 6 Stewardship: Luke 15:10 “Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Jesus eats with sinners not so that they will remain stuck in their sins, but so that they will come to know His love and repent. To repent means to turn, to turn away from sin and toward Jesus in faith. Whether the sin we struggle with is pride, greed, doubt, etc., the Lord calls us to turn to Him again in faith and away from our sin.

Marge and Darwin Scott thank everyone for the cards and well wishes; and for being part of their special anniversary.

The Watt Family thanks everyone for their kindness during the final days that Pastor's mother Lois had with us. Thank you also for all the words of support at the time of her passing. Our family is blessed to have such a caring and considerate congregation at this time.

We are short offering counter help for July. If you can help, please sign up in the narthex. If you can sign up to help just for a week or two that would be great. If you can sign up for the whole month, that would also be great. Any questions let me know.... THANK YOU!!! - Cathy Dryden

July 6 “The Declaration of Independence … claims … the ultimate source of authority by stating … they were … ‘appealing to the Supreme Judge of the World for the rectitude of’ their ‘intentions’... The foundations of our independence and our Government rests upon basic religious convictions. Back of the authority of our laws is the authority of the Supreme Judge of the World, to whom we still appeal. It seems to me perfectly plain that the authority of law, the right to equality, liberty and property, under American institutions, have for their foundation reverence for God. If we could imagine that to be swept away, these institutions of our American government could not long survive.” President Calvin Coolidge, September 21, 1924 – A “Life Quote” from Lutherans For Life · www.lutheransforlife.org

July 6 Fourth Sunday after Pentecost— The weight of sin causes us to cry with Paul, “Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?” (Romans 7:24) Called to faith by the Holy Spirit, however, we also echo Paul, “Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!” (25a) Those with post-abortion trauma readily identify with “Wretched.” We need to point them to Paul’s answer and to Jesus’ invitation, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Prayer: Merciful Lord, we pray for those struggling with the sin of abortion that they might know Your rest. Amen.

Tornado Assistance needed for Iowa and Nebraska

Ellie Menz sent an email asking for “We Care Tubs” . The information on what is needed for each tub is on a sheet in the Narthex. Please consider either donating items for the tubs or money to purchase items for the tubs. Information for delivering the tubs and/or money is included on the sheets.

Please pray for those who have been effected by these storms that the Word of God can come to these people through caring and thoughtful people like you.
