The Trinity Lutheran Preschool Board of Directors thanks the congregation for donating to provide Story Bibles for our preschool children in both classes. We appreciate that the congregation wants to help expose young children to God's story. They were passed out at the preschool Christmas Program. The families started to look through them right after receiving them. Thank you so much for caring about our preschool children and their families. Preschool Board, Anita, Becky, Deb, Dory, Jim, Linda, Melody, Mike, and Pat along with teachers, Joy and Brenda and Pastor Watt.

Issues Etc. reviews the new book "Everyday a Friday" by Joel Osteen: Joel Osteen is a true phenomenon in pop-American Christianity. He is pastor of the largest mega-church in the US, host of a weekly television show seen world-wide, author of several best-selling books and a frequent guest on secular media. Listen to the book review at http://issuesetc.org/osteen/

Join us for Family Bible Study Today (December 18): "The Real Saint Nick" A Video Bible study, hosted by the Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus-Speaker of The Lutheran Hour, examines a man who, next to Jesus Christ, is the most visible figure during the holidays-St. Nicholas or Santa Claus-as we know him in Western culture. Dating back to the third century, St. Nick is attributed with the doing of many benevolent and charitable acts of kindness and generosity. Revered and honored by Christians the world over, St. Nick has a resume of accomplishments and good deeds even the most celebrated saint would be envious of.

Building Healthy Families: Depression during the Christmas season is common. If you recognize yourself or someone close to you struggling with depression during this time of the year, we encourage you to contact your local LFS office for more information or to schedule an appointment with one of the LFS counselors. Life Quote: “As Christmas looms with recurrent images of Baby Jesus, as Life Sunday reminds some of the babies they never held, let us speak and act tenderly with those who endure the pain of sexual abuse and abortion. God’s Truth is the Gospel: ‘The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit’ Psalm 34:18; ‘[A]s far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.’” Psalm 103:12.” Kristin Wassilak, deaconess at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School, Brookfield, Illinois – A “Life Quote” from Lutherans For Life – www.lutheransforlife.org

The total given for the Christian Care Fund so far is $1094.80. If you wish to give more to please mark an envelope "Christian Care Fund" and put it in the collection plate. Disbursement requests are on the Narthex table (blue pad). Any member in good standing may request funds for anyone. Please give completed requests to Pastor Watt. All request are strictly confidential.
