Building Healthy Families: A poll conducted last year at a major college campus revealed that only one out of five students abstained from sexual relations during their freshman year. Dr. Miriam Grossman discusses the devastating results of early intimate relationships in her book entitled Unprotected. This book is a must read for any of our youth attending college and their parents. Lutheran Family Service of Iowa (515) 251-4900

Life Quote: “We shouldn’t need a ministry such as Word of Hope (888-217-8679; www.word-of-hope.org) to heal women and men from abortion. But abortion is often a secret sin that many are unwilling to talk about¬¬—even in the Church … The Church needs to proclaim ‘your sin is forgiven’ to those who have been ensnared in the evil of abortion. To our pastors who courageously preach and teach it, God bless you.” Diane E. Schroeder, president of Lutherans For Life – A “Life Quote” from Lutherans For Life – www.lutheransforlife.org

Dear members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Creston, Iowa. Thank you so very much for the opportunity to attend the International Academy of Apologetics, Evangelism and Human Rights this summer. It was a wonderful trip and formative in my understanding of Christian Evangelism and Apologetics. I will in the future share more specifically my experiences in France, including attending our sister congregation in Paris for Divine Service (in French!) and celebrating Holy Communion with them, our surprise weekend in Munich, Germany and the Concentration camp at Dachau. The trip was educational and very enjoyable. I thank you for your generosity. Pastor Watt.

Join Early Risers for Bible reading and discussion 6:30am every Tuesday morning at McDonalds.

Many thanks to all who sent cards, calls, visits, and food after I came home from the hospital it wall all so much appreciated. God bless you all. Velma Lorenz.

The LWML Zone Rally will be Saturday, September 10, at Trinity, Shenendoah. Please check out the carpool signup in the book in the narthex or contact Janice Nook.
