Vacation Bible school: Help Make the Desert! If you have any of the needed items for decorating for VBS please bring to the fellowship hall by Wed. July 18th as that will be the night we will begin to put things together to create our "desert". All help is welcome around 6:30!

Vacation Bible School: "Amazing Desert Journey" -this year's Vacation Bible School is only weeks away! (July 29-Aug 2) See how you can help either with planning or the actual event or both!! Look for the sign up sheet in the narthex to see where your talents are needed! The decorating committee is looking for the following items to borrow for VBS: colorful pillows, colorful rugs of any shape or size, LED strings of lights, palm tree-real or artificial, pottery, fabrics-striped or colorful with varying textures, baskets, painting canvas, canvas bags, burlap, and butcher paper-white or brown. Any questions please see Cindy Nelson or Waunita Watt. Please have any items to the fellowship hall by July 18 or before.

Vacation Bible school: Snacks! There are some specific snack materials that are needed for the "marketplace munchie" station at VBS. This station will help reinforce the lesson for the day. Clean water will be part of the mission project so we'll be asking for the smaller bottles of water for the kids to drink instead of Kool-Aid this year. Check out the sign up sheet in the narthex. Items are also needed for the Sunday night cookout the first night of VBS.

Life Quote: “Children need to see father and mother not competing with one another, but complimentary of each other. ‘Two are better than one … though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken’ (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12). God, a man, and a woman. This ‘threefold cord’ is for the benefit of all—including children and grandchildren!” Linda D. Bartlett, www.titus2-4life.org – A “Life Quote” from Lutherans For Life · www.lutheransforlife.org

The campers attending Youth Week at Camp Okoboji are once again creating and sending military care packages to the service men and women from Iowa District West congregations.
