TALK RADIO FOR THE LENTEN SEASON...You can listen to teachings on subjects like: Ash Wednesday, The Temptation of Jesus, The Hymn "A Lamb Goes Uncomplaining Forth," Saint Valentine and more. Issues, Etc. is a radio talk show hosted by LCMS Pastor Todd Wilken and produced by Lutheran Public Radio in Collinsville, IL. You can listen on-demand at www.issuesetc.org.

Why do we open up the Baptismal Font during Holy Communion? Simple, to remind you of your Baptism. Through it you were made God's child. You were marked with "the sign of the cross both upon your forehead and upon your heart, to mark you as one redeemed by Christ the Crucified." If you wish you can dip your fingers in the water and remember your baptism by retracing the cross on your forehead.

This Month's Lutheran Witness is dedicated to the youth of the church. Read the great article by LCMS President Matthew Harrison (insert in today's bulletin). Go to the Witness website for more. http://www.lcms.org/witness Talk to Pastor Watt or Waunita to subscribe. President Matthew Harrison writes to the young people of the church: "This world is an absolute mess. But I'm also confident. Jesus grabbed you at the font, and He won't let go."

Mercy

Building Healthy Families: As you find ways to share your love with family members and your special someone on Valentine’s Day this week, remember to also spend some time with your Perfect True Love. God is love (1 John 4:16). God is the author of love (1 John 4:8). His perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). God demonstrated his unconditional love by sending his son, Jesus Christ, to sacrifice his life for us (Romans 5:8). Now that is true love! Happy Valentine’s Day! Please remember to bring a few items for the Creston food bank next week. The mission board has designate the third Sunday of every month as 'Caring for Your Neighbor' Sunday.
