Life Together
A huge thank you to everyone that was able to attend my graduation "Open House" reception that was held on Saturday May 14. I really appreciate all the extra effort which was put forth during the awesome Graduating Senior Reception on Sunday! Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts, prayers, and always remembering me as I get ready for my next adventure in life -at UNI in Cedar Falls. God's Blessings to all of my church family!! Thank you to all who have supported the preschool and our families throughout the past school year. It has been a very successful year! We would love to see everyone who is able to come to our Graduation Ceremonies on Wednesday, May 25 at 6pm. Your support of our families in prayer and love is a priceless gift. May 29 will be the last Sunday for Pastor Kottlowski to be leading our services on a weekly basis. We thank Pastor Kottlowski for sharing God's Word with us during this first part of our vacancy. We pray that God will bless him and his wife as they follow their plans for the summer. Pastor Rutz and the elders are working on a schedule for future Sundays. More information will be shared as plans are finalized.
Janitorial Job Opening: Trinity Lutheran Church Trustees are looking for a person to fill the janitorial position. For more information contact Phil Wardenburg or Byron Bilderback.
Adult Bible Class will resume on Sunday, June 5, 2016 in the Fellowship Hall following the Divine Service. We will begin a five week study of: “How We Got the Bible”, a video study featuring Dr. Paul L. Maier. The class will be led by Mike Lang.
An open house reception will be held on Saturday, June 25 from 2-4 pm in the Fellowship Hall for Martin Herzberg and family. Martin will be ordained into the ministry the next day at St. John’s in Clarinda. More information about that will be shared as plans become finalized.
Mercy
Cans for Cancer is an ongoing project where you can bring your empty pop cans to the church. The money from can redemption will help fund some special projects that Trinity will sponsor at the June 17 Relay for Life in Creston.
Witness
Please keep Sunday, July 3 open on your calendars for hearing Pastor Stephen Oliver preach here at Trinity. He will also speak during the Bible Class hour and there will be a meal afterwards. It has been some years since he has been here to speak. He would prefer to tay in someone’s home as he did the last time he was here. If anyone would be wiling to open up their home for a night (His wife might be with him, but no children) please talk with any Mission Board member. We do not sponsor Pastor Oliver but we do pray for him and his family in our weekly prayers. You will be hearing more about this event as the time gets a little closer. That weekend will be a very busy one since it is over the 4th, but we hope you will all want to hear Pastor Oliver speak and tell us of his mission work in Taiwan. From the Mission Board
The LWML has an ongoing mission project for the Baby Bundles whish are given to the Life Care Clinic. Currently we are not asking for donations of items, but this is just a reminder that you might keep them in mind if you should be out and about and happen to run across any of these items in newborn sizes: receiving blankets, onesies, sleepers, diapers, booties/socks, caps.
