Isaiah 64:1-9
I Corinthians 1:3-9
Mark 11:1-10
1 Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples 2 and said to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it. 3 If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it and will send it back here immediately.’” 4 And they went away and found a colt tied at a door outside in the street, and they untied it. 5 And some of those standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?” 6 And they told them what Jesus had said, and they let them go. 7 And they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it. 8 And many spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut from the fields. 9 And those who went before and those who followed were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! 10 Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!”

LIFE TOGETHER
VISITORS: We are so glad you joined us today. We do collect offerings during our worship services. While we believe this is a chance for each believer to be a good steward of the gifts they have received form God, you are welcome but not expected to give an offering while you are our guest. If you would like to learn more about the Lord’s ministry here at Trinity please call Pastor Rutz. He would love to get acquainted and visit at a time that is convenient for you.
MEALS FOR CONFIRMATION CLASS: We would like to once again provide meals to our confirmation kids on Wednesdays Dec. 6, 13, and 20. Since there are only 5 kids plus Pastor we wondered about having three little groups of people sign up to put a meal together and serve it. Look for more info in the narthex and grab some friends to put a simple meal together for the class! Thanks. ~ Board of Education
HANGING OF THE GREENS: Our annual “Hanging of the Greens” will be NEXT Sunday, Dec 10, 2017. Divine Service will be followed by a pot luck brunch. Then we will prepare for the celebration of Jesus’ birth by decorating the Sanctuary, Nave, Fellowship Hall and outdoors. Please join us for any or all of this event.
CHRISTMAS CAROLING: Trinity Youth will meet in the fellowship hall next Sunday, December 10 at 5:00 for devotions and snacks before going Christmas caroling. Bring a snack to share. The congregation is welcome to join them.

Today the paraments switch to blue in observance of a new church year. Advent, a preparatory time of waiting and watching, communicates the message of hope. BLUE-the color of the sky-helps convey that powerful message. Our Christian faith rests on the hope that Christ, who came in history assuming our flesh, will also return on the last day of time from that same blue sky he ascended long ago.
