The Resurrection

24 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. 5 And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, 7 that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” 8 And they remembered his words, 9 and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles, 11 but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. 12 But Peter rose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; and he went home marveling at what had happened.

Life Together

VISITORS: We are so glad you joined us today. We do collect offerings during our worship services. While we believe this is a chance for each believer to be a good steward of the gifts they have received from God, you are welcome but not expected to give an offering while you are our guest. If you would like to learn more about the Lord’s ministry here at Trinity please call Pastor Rutz. He would love to get acquainted and visit at a time that is convenient for you.

Attendance Cards: Visitors and members are asked to fill out an attendance card (found in the pew rack) and to list names of each family member in attendance. On Sundays when there is Holy Communion please list the names of those who will be communing on the Holy Communion registration side of the card. Hand the card to an usher.

Baptism: Today, we rejoice and give thanks for Amelia Jane, infant daughter of Mickenzie and Jessica Hagen, who will be claimed by Jesus in the waters of Holy Baptism. Amelia's sponsors are her aunt and uncle, Micaela and Marty Hirsch.

Easter Breakfast: After this morning’s Divine Service in Creston, you are all invited to come down to the fellowship hall for a breakfast hosted by the Trinity Youth Group. There will be a freewill donation basket available. The proceeds from the breakfast will be used to help fund the youth’s trip to the National Youth Gathering which they will attend in July. It will be held in Minneapolis. We thank the youth and their parents for preparing this meal and for hosting the time of fellowship for all.

Thank You: A huge thank you to everyone who helped put Bertha Jensen's 100th birthday party together at such short notice! She was so happy for this special event and so thankful to God for giving her 100 years of blessings. Thank you all for your many cards she received, to Pastor Rutz for your kind words and prayer and to the photographer, Haylee Brown. Thank you to the many members of Trinity who were able to take time from your busy schedules to come to her party. This will be a day she will truly remember. From the Langs and Dorys.

VBS Dates in Creston will be Sunday, June 23-Wednesday, June 26 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Camp Okoboji offers many youth camps starting in April thru the first of August. If any of our youth are interested, please go to the Camp Okoboji website and check them out. Trinity has scholarship money and will pay up to half of the fee depending on how many apply for funds. Turn in your receipt in August and we will reimburse you.

MISSIONS

The large LWML MITE BOX will be sitting at the back of the church during the month of April. Your generous contributions in the recent past have helped for numerous Mission Grants, both nationally and for the district, to be paid in full. The Lutheran Women in Mission would like to thank everyone who has given to our organization and we would appreciate your continued support.

The Mission Board is advising that there will be a trip to Mission Central, Mapleton, IA on Saturday, July 27th. More details will follow, but for now make plans to go to Mission Central to tour the new Creation Museum, have lunch and then hear Pastor Stephen Oliver speak about his mission work in Taiwan. We are to arrive no later than 10:45am. There is no charge for this trip. Pastor Oliver is one of the missionaries that Trinity supports. We hope many of our members will be able to make this very interesting and informative trip.
