Mercy

Building Healthy Families: Do you discipline your child in the heat of the moment? It’s tough to think clearly when you’re angry and agitated. Before you know it you’ve said the wrong thing. You can overreact: "You’re grounded until you finish high school!" You can be hurtful: "Can’t you ever do anything right?" Either way, disciplining like that won’t be very effective. The next time your child does something that requires discipline (and he will!), step back and cool off. Wait until the heat of the moment has passed, then discipline with the goal of teaching, not punishing, your child. Lutheran Family Service of Iowa (515) 251-4900.

Life Together

There will be a reception for the newly Baptized in the fellowship hall after worship. Please come and welcome our newest brothers in Christ to our family!

The families of Rev Michael and Karen Breach invites the congregation as we celebrate their 25th anniversary. An open house will be held in the Fellowship Hall at Trinity on Saturday, July 6th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. No gifts please your presence is your gift.

Planning Committee Reactivating. Possible projects include a steeple, upstairs restrooms, opening up the narthex, remodeling existing sanctuary or build a new one. If interested in serving on the committee, see the President of the Congregation Chuck Bowman.

Registration is now open for The LCMS National Rural and Small Town Mission Conference. Please talk to Pastor Watt if you would be interested in attending. When: Oct. 31–Nov. 2, 2013 Where: Kansas City Airport Marriott, Kansas City, Missouri Who: LCMS congregational leaders in rural and small-town settings The LCMS National Rural and Small Town Mission Conference will address the blessings and challenges facing rural and small-town congregations today and encourage those congregations and their leaders in cultivating healthy churches that are eager to bear witness to Christ, show mercy to those in need in their communities and develop a robust life together with their fellow members.

2013 National Offering - LCMS households, congregations and organizations are invited to participate in a synodwide gathering of financial gifts called the National Offering. Leading with a collection received in worship services during the 2013 Regular Convention of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in St. Louis, this triennium’s National Offering gives participants five choices through which they can share Christ’s forgiveness and mercy both at home and abroad. It also affords LCMS congregations and their members an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to our life together as the world’s leading confessional Lutheran body. For the triennium, five gift designations cover a range of Witness, Mercy, Life Together efforts, all of which happen only with broad support from LCMS congregations and households. Baptized for this moment, you are free to join with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ in sharing His forgiveness and mercy in a world desperately in need of it. Please join with others in support of this triennium’s National Offering.
