Did You Know: Leap Day occurs every fours years and this is the year! Do you know about the custom, dating back to the 5th century, where women can ask men to marry them on this one day every four years? Many years ago when things were very different today, St. Bridget appealed to St. Patrick on behalf of all women that they have a more active role in choosing their husbands. He gave permission, but only on this day, every four years. On Wednesday, do something you wouldn’t ordinarily do on any other day. Get outside of your routine, take a risk, and try something new! Lutheran Family Service of Iowa (515-251-4900)

HUSH deer distribution has started up again. Please spread the word to stop by the First Presbyterian Church Thursday’s from 4-6pm. No eligibility requirements, just sign your name & give the number of people in your household. Last year more than 16 thousand pounds were given out to the needy of SW Iowa. So far in the past seven weeks more than six thousand pounds has been distributed.

Life Quote: “I pray that as you move through Lent toward that empty tomb, that you will contemplate the awful price Jesus paid for you. I pray that you will rejoice and live in the victory Christ has purchased and freely gives. I pray that you will share the message of the value this gives to every human being.” Rev. Dr. James I. Lamb, executive director of Lutherans For Life – A “Life Quote” from Lutherans For Life · www.lutheransforlife.org
