The Third Sunday of Easter on May 4, 2025
Acts 1:9-22 Revelation 5:(1-7) 8-14
John 21:1-14(15-19) Jesus Appears to Seven Disciples
After this Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias, and he revealed himself in this way. 2 Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. 4 Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Jesus said to them, “Children, do you have any fish?” They answered him, “No.” 6 He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish. 7 That disciple whom Jesus loved therefore said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment, for he was stripped for work, and threw himself into the sea. 8 The other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards[a] off. 9 When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. 10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.” 11 So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn. 12 Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” Now none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish. 14 This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.

LIFE TOGETHER
VISITORS: We are so glad you joined us today. We collect offerings during our worship services. While we believe this is a chance for each believer to be a good steward of the gifts they have received from God, you are welcome but not expected to give an offering while you are our guest. If you would like to learn more about the Lord’s ministry here at Trinity please call Pastor Rutz.
He would love to get acquainted and visit at a time that is convenient for you. You are also invited to join members in the fellowship hall after this morning’s service.
Attendance Cards: Visitors and members are asked to fill out an attendance card and to list names of each family member in attendance. Turn in your card at the back of the church at the end of the service.
On Sundays when there is Holy Communion please list the names of those who will be communing on the Holy Communion registration side of the card. Hand it to an usher as you go up for communion.
If you have moved or your phone number or email address have changed, please note any changes on the attendance card so that we can update our records in the office.
Weekly bulletins, announcements, and sermons continue to be available on the church website.
Children in the Divine Service Sheets are available from the basket in the back of the church. Parents are encouraged to read these to/with their children. Each week will have a short explanation of a different part of the church service or about something found in the church. They are other way to aid parents in teaching their children.
Preschool Board meets this morning following the reception.
Church Council will not meet in May.
Boards may meet next Sunday after church or at another time of their choosing, as needed.

Sunday School : The last day for Sunday School before summer is May 18th. Again, we'll start back up in the Fall.

Fish Fry: Sunday, June 1 at 6:00 p.m. Fish will be provided. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.
VBS will be held Tues.-Fri., June 17-20 from 9:00-11:30. Sign up sheets will be coming out soon. Lots of helpers will be needed. Watch for more info. soon. This year’s theme is: Epic Australian Adventure: An Unforgettable Journey with Jesus.
Building Healthy Families: Are you ever tempted to dwell on the thought that some people are more gifted (or talented, or creative, or beautiful, or smart, or successful, or athletic…) than you are? Eleanor Roosevelt once famously said, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Child, stop comparing yourself critically to others and remember instead who you are, because of Whose you are: But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12) Let each temptation to think otherwise remind you of this verse and the truth it boldly proclaims!
