Life Together
Hanging of the Greens! Join us on December 6 immediately after the worship service at Creston to decorate the church and fellowship hall for Christmas. A potluck brunch will follow decorating.
The Mount Ayr location will decorate the sanctuary and fellowship hall for the Advent Season Sunday morning, November 22. Please join us for worship at 8:00 a.m. , brunch at 9:00 a.m. followed by decorating. We typically complete the task by 11:00 a.m. A signup sheet for the brunch is available at the Mount Ayr church or you may email Vicki (vsickels@windstream.net).
Newly elected church officers will be installed in the services on January 3, 2016.
Removal of the Greens will be Sunday, January 9 following bible class.
Stewardship Thought for November 22 – Last Sunday of the Church Year - Isaiah 51:6: “For the heavens vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment.” The things of this earth that hold our attention, that cause us worry, that tempt us away from the Lord: they are all passing away. They will vanish like a garment. They are not for us to worry over, but rather to use for the Lord's purposes. The things of this world are not ends in and of themselves, but only means to be used wisely by the children of the Kingdom that has no end.
There will be an Advent Pot Luck Dinner before the last advent service on December 16 at 5:45pm.
Trinity Preschool is collecting Labels for Education. There is can on the table in the Narthex.
Visitors: We do collect offerings during our worship services. While we believe this is a chance for each believer to be a good steward of the gifts they have received from God, we do not expect you to give an offering while you are our guest.
Mercy
Christian Care: Trinity has established a Christian Care fund to help people in our communities who are in need. Our Thanksgiving offering will be used to fund this account (use your Thanksgiving envelope). You may also give to the fund at any time simply use one of the Christian Care Fund envelopes on the narthex table. Any member of Trinity may request a gift for anyone in need. Find forms for requests on the Narthex table.
Please remember to bring a few items for the Creston food bank next week. The mission board has designate the third Sunday of every month as 'Caring for Your Neighbor' Sunday.
Witness
Advent Services this year are December 2, 9 & 16 at 7:00pm.
Christmas Eve Service (Dec 24) at Mount Ayr will be at 5pm and Creston at 7pm.
Christmas Day Service (Dec 25) will be at 9:45am.
New Year's Eve is at 7pm, December 31.
Early Risers will not meet on Tuesday November 24. We will resume Tuesday December 1, 6:30am in the Fellowship Hall. Every one is welcome to join us in reading through the Bible.
The Sunday School Children will be presenting the Story of Jesus birth to us on December 13th at 9:45 am service (CR). There will be congregational fellowship following in the fellowship hall.
