In 1552 Dr. Luther wrote this about the book of Romans: “This epistle is really the chief part of the New Testament and the very purest Gospel,…..It can never by read or pondered too much, and the more it is dealt with the more precious it becomes, and the better it tastes.”

FORMER LIFELIGHT STUDENTS: Materials are ready for you on the table in the Narthex.

NEW TO LIFELIGHT?: The same material is presented twice each week. You may attend either the Monday or the Tuesday class. The lesson is the same. For study materials contact Janette Lang.

Early Risers will resume on Tuesday, September 13 at 6:30 a.m. We will begin with reading and discussion of the book of Esther. You are welcome to join us either regularly or occasionally.

Naomi Circle will meet this Wednesday, September 14 at 1:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for Bible Study and fellowship. Our topic will be Joy in All Circumstances” This study is found on page 16 of the Fall 2016 Quarterly. Please join us for Bible study and fellowship .

Mercy

The Christian Care Fund has a balance of $844.88. There were no requests for assistance in August.

Witness

The large LWML mite box will be located in the back of the sanctuary the whole month of September and also the first Sunday of October, which is when LWML Sunday will be observed. On October 2, there will be a special service, “Come and See”, which it the theme for this year’s LWML Sunday. Some of the ladies of Trinity will be participating and will also be serving baked goods during the fellowship hour. A bake sale and craft sale will be taking place during this time as well, with all monies taken in to go for MITES. Last year we were blessed with over $400 from our MITE offering. All Trinity ladies (Creston and Mt. Ayr) are encouraged to participate. A sign up sheet will be put out on the table in the narthex for everyone to list your favorite muffins, coffee cakes, breads, cinnamon rolls, pies, etc. to make for selling/serving. Of course, the bake sale is not just limited to baked items. Jams, jellies, etc. would be encouraged, too. There is still time to be making your favorite craft items. We hope this year’s event will be even bigger and better than last year’s! If there are ay questions, you can talk with Maggie Dory.

Dear Saints in Christ,

Julie, the kids, and I would like to extend our thanks and appreciation for all the congregation has done to assist us during the past few weeks in getting settled in our home. Thank you to all who have worked so hard to prepare the parsonage for our arrival, cleaning, adding appliances and helping us unload the moving van. Thank you to all who have stopped by with meals, food, and other items to welcome us. Thank you especially for all of your prayers and encouragement in making us feel welcome. We are looking forward to getting involved at Trinity and in having the privilege to share God’s love with all of you.

In Christ,

Pastor, Julie, Molly, Jacob, and Jeremy Rutz
