THE FESTIVAL OF THE INCARNATION OF OUR LORD, JESUS CHRIST (December 25, 2011)

Post date: Dec 23, 2011 7:10:47 PM

Witness

The Trinity Lutheran Preschool Board of Directors thanks the congregation for donating to provide Story Bibles for our preschool children in both classes. We appreciate that the congregation wants to help expose young children to God's story. They were passed out at the preschool Christmas Program. The families started to look through them right after receiving them. Thank you so much for caring about our preschool children and their families. Preschool Board, Anita, Becky, Deb, Dory, Jim, Linda, Melody, Mike, and Pat along with teachers, Joy and Brenda and Pastor Watt.

A Total of $420 has been given for The Story Bible gifts for Preschool parents. That covers 21 of the 33 given. If you would like to give to this project use the envelopes on the narthex table.

Issues Etc. reviews the new book "Everyday a Friday" by Joel Osteen: Joel Osteen is a true phenomenon in pop-American Christianity. He is pastor of the largest mega-church in the US, host of a weekly television show seen world-wide, author of several best-selling books and a frequent guest on secular media. Listen to the book review at http://issuesetc.org/osteen/

Mercy

Building Healthy Families: Merry Christmas! Christ came to us in human flesh, not in majesty but in the form of a lowly, helpless child. God still comes to us in many forms throughout our lives, such as in the simple and compassionate services of LFS. We are grateful to serve you now and throughout the New Year! Lutheran Family Service of Iowa (515)251-4900

The total given for the Christian Care Fund so far is $1094.80. If you wish to give more to please mark an envelope "Christian Care Fund" and put it in the collection plate. Disbursement requests are on the Narthex table (blue pad). Any member in good standing may request funds for anyone. Please give completed requests to Pastor Watt. All request are strictly confidential.
