Whereas, electronic means are available for conducting meetings for the various boards and committees of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Creston, Iowa, let it be

Resolved, that the Bylaws of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Article II be modified as follows:

Article II MEETINGS

D. Electronic meetings

1. Meetings for all boards and committees may be held electronically in accordance with the following guidelines and requirements:

a. Electronic Board meetings may be conducted by telephone, telecommunication, or computer conference.

b. Electronic meetings of the Voter's assembly shall be only between the Creston & Mount Ayr fellowship halls.

Life Together

  • Freedom Rock Contributors, We would like to send out a special invitation to all the individuals or companies that helped in the completion of the Union County Freedom Rock. We are planning a dedication ceremony on Tuesday, November 11th at 9:30 am at the Freedom Rock location. In case of inclement weather the ceremony will be held at the Creston High School Gymnasium.   • Handy Helpers to meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 and then every month thru April on the 3rd Tuesday of the Month.
  • If you wish to provide flowers for the altar please eMail flowers@TrinityCreston.org and/or use the Altar Flower sheet in the signup book on the Narthex table (be sure to notify pastor in writing, a pad is provided on the narthex table).   • LC Clinic of Stuart, Iowa will be holding training for their new clinic here in Creston on November 17th, 18th, 20th, 21st and 22nd. All of the training sessions will be here at Trinity from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm except for the training on Saturday the 22nd which will be in Stuart, IA at the lc Clinic from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. If you are interested in the training please RSVP by by calling Ruth at 515-523-1173; 515-313-1548 or email Ruth@IowaLcClinic.org.   • Reminder: Lutheran Witness Subscription Renewals were due in May. If you have not paid for your subscription please give your check to Cindy Nelson or put in the collection plate clearly marked for "Lutheran Witness Subscription".
  • The Nominating Committee is searching for a Church Treasurer for the 2015. If you are interested, please contact Deb Meltzer, Dave Dory or Dennis Brown. Thank you!
  • The Quarterly Voter's Meeting has been moved from October 19 to November 23. All boards and committees need to have their budget requests to the Treasurer no later than November 16.
  • Voter's Meeting on Sunday, November 23, 2014 following bible class. There will be a meal provided. If you are interested in signing up for something to go with Polish Sauages and Hamburgers, please see the sign up sheet in the narthex or email wwatt@trinitycreston.org with your contributions to the meal.
  • NAOMI CIRCLE meets Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 1:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Our topic will be “Forgiven Creatures.” Found on page 18 of the Fall quarterly. You are always welcome to join us for Bible Study and fellowship.
  • Stewardship: Matthew 25:4 “….but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.” Why did they take flasks of oil with them? Because they listened to the Bridegroom’s words and believed them. Our actions always start with and flow from our beliefs. What do your actions in the realm of stewardship say about what you believe?
  • The Altar Guild will clean & polish the altar ware and furnishings on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. Cleaning supplies will be furnished.

Mercy

  • Building Healthy Families: God allows many opportunities for us to meet people who don’t know Him as their Savior. In work, in recreation, in community events, and in friendships they are there if we take the time to see and notice them. Who will God place in your path who needs a word of hope, a cup of cold water or a demonstration of love motivated by your awareness of His great love for you this week?   • Christian Care: Trinity has established a Christian Care fund to help people in our communities who are in need. Our Thanksgiving offering will be used to fund this account (use your Thanksgiving envelope). You may also give to the fund at any time simply use one of the Christian Care Fund envelopes on the narthex table. Any member of Trinity may request a gift for anyone in need. Find forms for requests on the Narthex table.
  • Please remember to bring a few items for the Creston food bank next week. The mission board has designate the third Sunday of every month as 'Caring for Your Neighbor' Sunday.

  • Education: If you are interested in hosting a bible study in your home please contact Pastor Watt
  • 90 YEARS in 90 DAYS --- KFUO Radio is celebrating its 90th Anniversary of broadcasting the Good News of Jesus Christ and for 90 Days we will look at different aspects of our ministry: where we started, where we are, and where we are going.
